To talk about their favourite colours 教学重点 教学难点 To grasp vocabulary about colours To talk about their favourtie colours and the reasons. 教学过程 Step 1 Leading in: 1) Show them some pictures about colors they have learned to review the expressions of different colors. 2) Free talk: After seeing some colors, talk about the colors they like best and explain the reasons. 3) Do you know what colors Eddie likes best? Step 2 Comic strip (1) Listening to the dialogue between Eddie and Hobo. Then ask some simple questions. Which color does Eddie like better? Why doesn‟t Eddie like pink? (2) Let the students read the dialogues to talk about if the blue one matches Eddie well and perform Eddie and Hobo. Step 3 Presentation Ask students to list some colorful things that they can see during their daily lives. Show the picture about a rainbow and ask, “When can you see the rainbow? How many colors are there in a rainbow? Can you tell their order?” With the question above, the teacher and the students talk about the colors of a rainbow together and get a conclusion. Colors in a rainbow (in correct order): red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Step 4 Speak up Work in groups of two to talk about the colors in a rainbow, use Amy and her cousin‟s dialogue as a model. Tell them that here “apples” is an object. Underline the object clauses in the article and tell them that they are object clauses. Tell them an object functions as the object of a sentence. Step 2 Presentation 1. Read through the statements and sentences on page 26. 2. Give them some sentences and ask them to tell whether they are object clauses. Look at the picture on the right and complete the report using the information in the table. Check the answers and read it. Step 2 Presentation 1. Ask the students how to write the article. The article must include: What colour does she wear? What does the colour represent? Why does she wear the colour? Do you think they match well? 2. Show the advertisements on page 33 and look at them carefully. Tell me which one do they like best and choose one picture to write about. Let them discuss with their partners answering the above questions. 3. Write their own articles. Use the table and report on page 32 to help. 4.
