I. Show the students the picture on Page 11, ask them to look at the picture and discuss: 1、which country is famous for windmills? 2、what else do you know about the country? II. Introduce the key themes to the students. Warming up III. Ask the students to listen to six sentences and match the key words in the sentences with the 教pictures in Activity ①, Warming up. 学 Present the key sentences on the slide and explain 环节their meanings. 设IV. Ask the students to discuss the cities of the 计 nicknames on the right in Activity ②, and then match them with the cities on the left. 2

Listening & Speaking practice (1) I. Ask the students to try reading aloud the words in the word box on Page13. Then ask them to read the words after the tape. II. Show the picture and tell the students they are going to listen to a short dialogue about London. III. Play the tape twice and ask the students to practice the dialogue after the tape. IV. Present the basic sentence patterns on the blackboard: I just got back from London. How did you find the city? How about the traffic during the Olympic Games? There were so many tourists, and the traffic was really busy during that time V. Extension activity. Teacher can use words of different cities in Warming up, and let the Students imitate the dialogue in activity ②. Ⅵ. Ask the students to listen to the dialogue again. And then ask them to form into groups and make dialogues with the given words and pictures in Activity ③. 3

Listening & I. Ask the students to look at the picture on Page 14 Speaking and then listen to the dialogue in Activity ④. Ask practice (2) the students to answer the three questions they hear in the dialogue after listening. 1.Where is the capital of Australia? 2.What special animals does Australia have? 3.Are there any famous natural scenic sites? II. Play the tape and ask the students to listen to the dialogue in Activity ④ again. Ask them to pay attention to the answers to the above three questions. III. Play the tape and ask the students to listen to the dialogue in Activity ④ again, and make dialogues with the help of the words and expressions in Activity ⑤ and then act out. 4
