The invention further discloses a method forrouting messages including the steps of receiving at a server a message from anoriginating device for delivery to a to at least one recipient; forwarding the message tothe at least one recipient device via a first delivery channel; awaiting receipt of

acknowledgement message from said least one recipient device, and in the event that noacknowledgment message is received, the at least one server resends the message tosaid at least one recipient device via an alternate delivery channel.
