Ⅰ.Teaching aims and demands (教学目标)
Lead students to learn some new words and phrases by observing pictures and talking about how sandstorms come into being. (sand, cut down, change into, prevent, prevent … from, human being, although, law, turn off) Through doing some exercise to review the usages of indefinite pronouns and adverbs. Learn to talk about pollution and its harm by group work or pair work . Through talking about the importance of forests and water resources to enhance students’awareness of protecting the environment. Ⅱ.Teaching aids

Step2 Reviewing and Lead-in
1.Doing some exercise to review the the usages of indefinite pronouns and adverbs on the blackboard.
2.Talk about the pictures to learn new words and some phrases, then learn the new lesson. Step3 Presentation
1.Look at the pictures in 1c again then talk about the sandstorm according to them.
2.Listen to the tape and answer the question, then check the answer. 3.Read 1a by themselves and help students understand the important sentences or new words. Step4 Consolidation
1.Read 1a after tape to pay attention to the pronunciation, intonation and pause.
2.Group work to read 1a and act it out.
3.Look at the picture in 1c and talk about how sandstorms come into being. Step5 Practice 1.Complete 1b
2.Read 2 and add more ways of protecting and saving water. Step6 summarize Step7 Homework
1.Review the words and Preview words in Section C 2.Write a passage about how sandstorms come into being.
