摘要：In a recording device serving several rows of individually selectable recordingelements (3a-3c), which are located behind one another in the direction of movement (A)of the recording carrier (1), the colour registration of the recording elements locatedbehind one another is graded in a geometric series to the base of two, in order to achievea black/white or colour reproduction with the most accurate tone values, and therecording elements are selected in such a manner that the analogue brightnesses of thepicture elements of the image to be recorded are measured and analogue/digitallyconverted, and that each digit (O, L) of the binary number of the logarithmatedbrightness values is supplied to a control device for the recording elements locatedbehind one another and in each case allocated to one picture element, which controls therecording elements as determined by their colour registration corresponding to aparticular position value within the binary number reproducing the brightness of thepicture element. The colour registration, having different magnitude, can be generatedby an effective cross section of the recording elements of different magnitude or adensity of the colour applied by the recording elements with a density of differentmagnitude, or by applying energy of different magnitude in these recording elements. Asrecording elements, ink spray nozzles, thermal printing elements and electrographicrecording arrangements can be considered, among others.
