My Middle School Teachers and College Professors
Both my middle school teachers and my college professors have an important impact on me; however they are different in many situations, especially in these three aspects: teaching method, the relationship with student and knowledge degree.
When I was a middle school student, I was too young to control myself, and I couldn’t find a right way or an exact direction to study well; however, my middle school teachers helped me solve the problem voluntarily, but they only provided a uniform way. I was spoon-fed, which only depended on their teaching experience. No matter what I liked and what I should, I must finish all the homework that they made for me, or I would be published. They never ignore whether the method contributed to improving my study, instead they though only by this severe way could I pass any examination successfully; therefore, I would have a chance to enter a famous university.
Since the middle school teachers gave me scathing requirements, I made a bad impression on them, and even I was afraid of them. I had no encouragement to talk with them, let alone, chatting with them when I was in trouble. As the result, the relationship between us became worse and worse; furthermore, sometimes when I came across them on street, I would bend my head and pretended I hadn’t see them, or I would find another way to avoid met them again.
In terms of knowledge degree, though most of my middle school teachers
lacked of knowledge, they were better then before. Because the extent and complexity of the contemporary education required of higher specialized knowledge, the teacher in middle school must find different ways to improve themselves.
In contrast to my middle school teachers, the teaching method of my college professors was more open, and I could have more time to learn what I interested. As a university student, I had an exact goal and my own way to deal with my study; therefore, my college professors only provide me a stage to show myself. What they tough me was not so much the way to get good mark as the way to be a good person. They would give me severe commands that what I must do, instead, they would give me guidance to judge what we should do and what we wanted to do.
Therefore, the relationship between us changed so much, and we almost seemed like friends. Though it’s hard to meet them after class, I would grasp every proper chance to communicate with them; meanwhile, I was wiling to share my opinion with them and often asked them for some good advice when I was in loss.
Undoubtedly, as a college professor, their knowledge degree is higher than the middle school teachers; however most of them still keep further education, after all, there is no end to learning, and they must be ready to solve strange question that their clever student asked.
From these aspects, I extremely found that my middle school teachers so
differ from my college professors. I hope my middle school teachers will learn something useful from my college professors, and then give their student more effective when they are young.
