1, Water talk
Daisy was in the bathroom. She was brushing her teeth (tooth-牙齿的复数)and the tap (水龙头)was on. Water was pouring (涌流)into(pouring...into...流入....) the sink.
‘Turn that tap off,(turn sth off 关掉某物)’ a voice said loudly. Daisy froze(惊怕). She looked round(四周看看), but saw no one. ‘Turn that tap off’. You’re wasting(浪费) water,’ the voice sounded (听起来...)angry (sound + adj 听起来怎样,动车+形容词).
Daisy obeyed(顺从). ‘Who… who are you?’ she asked.
I’m Water. Lt's not easy for me to get here(it's easy for somebody to do something ‘Yes,’ Daisy nodded(点头) ‘Well, the river carried me to a reservoir(水库). I relaxed(放松) there for a few days. Then people cleaned me up(clean... up 清洁某物).’ ‘Cleaned you up?’ daisy asked. ‘Yes, I was dirty after my journey so people cleaned me up in a water treatment(处理) works(工厂). Then I travelled in the pipes(管子) under the streets. I waited there until I you called me. Daisy said, ‘So this is the end of your journey(end of ...尽头).’ ‘No. Then I'll go to a sewage plant. People there will pump me into the river and I’ll go back into the sea again.’ ‘Again?’ ‘Yes. I came from the sea in the first place(首先,最初). Remember not to waste me or pollute me(remember to/not to do sth. Remember doing sth区别:remember to do sth-记得要做某事,是还没做的,remember doing sth-记得做过某事). I'm valuable (有价值的), like liquid gold.
