A start-up company in California, called Zume, is testing machines that make pizza. The robot takes and shapes dough(生面团) to create the base of the pizza. It then adds tomato sauce, cheese, meat or other toppings(浇料). Next, the robot places the uncooked pizza into a hot oven(烤箱). A few minutes later, the pizza is ready. The pizza comes out the same each time. Zume says the robots work quickly and do not get sick. The robots do not get paid either.

Julia Collins is the company’s founder(创始人) and chief executive officer(CEO). Her business can spend money on better food products because it does not have to pay the robots. Zume is using robots to make pizza.

Charity Suzuki has bought the robot-made pizza. She likes its taste. “It’s delicious. It’s always hot and fresh when it comes. I mean it’s great that they’re making it, but I can’t tell the difference that it’s made by a robot versus(对抗) a human.”

Other companies say they are developing robots so people can get higher quality food faster. But what about the jobs the robots are taking from humans?

Ken Goldberg is a professor at the University of California in Berkeley. He also directs the school’s automation(自动化) laboratory. Goldberg says researchers have been working with robots for 50 years. A new report connects eating eggs to an increased risk of heart disease. The results follow several earlier studies that found eating eggs was generally healthy. The study collects data from six other earlier studies. It shows a 6 percent increased risk of heart disease when the number of eggs a person ate each day increased by half an egg.

Norrina Allen, an associate professor(助教) at Northwestern University said that, in the United States, eggs are generally one of the top sources of cholesterol(胆固醇) in a person’s daily food. People with higher levels of cholesterol in their food are at increased risk of the development of heart disease later in life. However, Allen added that she would not say that eggs are completely unhealthy. “I’m not saying that people should take them completely out of their food,” she said. “I’m just suggesting that people eat them in a proper amount.”

Some experts believe the new study does not prove that eggs are causing heart disease. “Cholesterol’s role in the development of heart disease has been discussed for more than 30 years,” said Bruemmer, an associate professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. “This study does have clear shortcomings, including self-reporting at a single time point,” he added.

Bruemmer said, “Eggs in moderation(适度) are probably acceptable from a nutritional(营养的) standpoint(立场).” “Moderation,” he added, “is less than one egg a day, including eggs in foods such as bread”.

Holly Andersen, a doctor at the New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, agrees that the study has “real shortcomings”. One problem Andersen has with the study is that a lot of the egg-eating people in the study also appeared to be eating much meat and processed(加工的) meat. “If you’re taking a lot of processed meat, it doesn’t matter how many eggs you’re eating,” Andersen said.

How is everything going? I’m writing to invite you to attend our school's sports meeting to be held recently. And the detailed information is as follows.

To enrich students' school life and build up their body, an annual sports meeting will be held in the school’s gym next month. It includes many events, such as the high jump, the long jump, the shot put, track and field, the relay race, the javelin and so on. Without doubt, passion can be well felt apart from strength in the performance if you are on the spot. Why not have a try to show yourself?

Looking forward to your early reply.
